But these posters by Ibraheem Youssef made my day a bit better. I think I need to refuel with some Bill Murray + Wes Anderson later.

Pumpkin carving.
Andrew is afraid of touching the pumpkin guts. So, I smeared some on his hand. Baby steps, baby steps. He did help carve though. I drew the cat.

Cider, gourds, and corn.
We found a local farm to buy some pumpkins that are fated to become jack-o-lanterns. In addition to the pumpkins, we enjoyed some hot apple cider that was grown and made at the farm. Their corn maze was definitely not the most challenging one I've ever been to, but is was the only one that has ever taught me interesting Ohio history facts as we meandered through it.

Simple, modern.
I saw a quilt by CarsonToo featured on the front page of Etsy today. I liked what I saw so I clicked through to their store. I love how simple and modern these quilts are, and the colors are perfect.

"...I believe in you and me and everything we'll ever see and do..."
I love all the colors that come along with fall. And I love that we have a park just a walk away with all of this to offer.
Darjeeling Limited: Criterion Collection.
I held off buying this movie because I knew the day would come that it would be released in the Criterion Collection. So glad it's on it's way to my house right now.

Soup weather.
Several times I have attempted to make dinners from recipes I've found online and all of those several times I have failed miserably. So much so, that once Andrew and I actually threw the food out after eating a few bites. But I took a risk this week and decided to try to make a recipe that claimed to be the same as Panera's broccoli and cheddar soup (my current food addiction). Maybe it was the soup weather, or maybe I just got lucky, but it turned out pretty awesome. I used this recipe with one modification, I didn't puree the soup at any point. It just seemed like something else that would dirty more dishes and take more time. Besides, the broccoli got so soft that there really didn't seem to be any need for it.

Esperanza Spalding.
I watched Esperanza Spalding's Tiny Desk Concert over on NPR this morning and it totally made my day. I had never heard of her before but I am totally smitten now. I think it's safe to say that I want to be her, especially with that hair (!!!!). So I wanted to share the love here. I found this awesome live performance on Vimeo.

What does it mean?
I've noticed that I tend to have a thing for rainbow hued textiles. Especially quilts. I came across this one on Flickr the other day.
On a side note, I will have some of my work for sale in Columbus this weekend. Three Bears was asked to display some work at Stained Skin as part of a Gallery Hop. I will be showing two of my older prints and two new pieces as well as a recycled flannel bear. Along side me will be works by fellow bear Adam Baker and artist Steve Knerem and a plethora of other Three Bears items like shirts and albums we've done. The event begins at 8:30 PM and lasts until the wee hours of the morning. I will not be there, but it should be a great time full of some awesome artwork so if you're in the area I'd suggest checking it out.
